Today is the day we are going to present and showcase our work to all the lecturers. We write finish our blog, put all the require stuffs into the 2 disc and burn them.

Today I do the playblast for all the shots previz and research on the sound effects to fit into our scene.
Day 13
Research on how to do smoke effectsI follow the tutorial from the youtube link above and create my smoke effects using After Effects.
Next, I put my bullet hole and smoke effects together. At first, my group decided to have 3 bullet holes. So I duplicate 2 more bullet holes and the smoke effects I had done. I move and scale my smoke effects to make them in place with my bullet holes. I met some difficulties adjusting the right timing for the smoke to come out from the bullet holes, once they appeared. I also met some difficulties on how fast I want the bullet holes to appear. As I need to take reference on how fast the real life bullet hole appears once the rifle shoot. I also need to take reference on how fast the real life smoke come out from the bullet hole, once the rifle shoot. I also found out that I need to make the smoke seem natural by making it appear fast and gone slow, when each of the bullet holes are being shot. After much adjusting, I create the smoke effects coming out from the bullet holes as shown below:
After discussing with my group members, we decided to use 1 bullet hole instead of 3 bullet holes as shown below:

Research on how to do Ambient Occlusion
Today, my group members are doing the rendering of all the shots we had using mental ray. We uses a number of computers to do our rendering, as it will help to speed up the rendering time of the different shots we had and also helped us to save time. We render the beauty and ambient occlusion passes.

Research on How to create the bullet hole on scoreboard
The first bullet hole I had done
After I researched on how to do the bullet hole, I followed the tutorial and I did my first bullet hole using Photoshop.
The second bullet hole I had done
The third bullet hole I had done
I repeated all the steps I learnt from the tutorial that I had researched through the link as shown above to create the second and third bullet hole. I just wanted to compare which one I did is the best and used it for our scene. After discussing with the group members, we decided to use the third bullet hole for our scene.

I doing research on how to do the render passes through youtube.
It is to enhance the skills I learnt in class and apply the skills on the scene and characters, after the animations for the overall scene are done.

I used Photoshop to crop the image, take out the white color and save it as a png.
Day 4 & 5

I continued with the facial rigging and found out that doing it can be quite challenging.
I also did the research and created the fluorescent lights for the scene. I modeled the boxes and put all the fluorescent lights in place.

The second render image
I felt that the scene was too dark so I added the point lights into each of the boxes. This not only brighten up the scene, but also made the fluorescent lights seem brighter. As the real fluorescent light in the light tubes give out lights brighter. So I decided to use the fluorescent lights from the second render image.

Today our group continued to work and finalize the storyboard with the timing.
I am being assigned to do the lighting for the scene.

I will be doing the lighting and the rigging of the facial expression.
